The Women Empowerment Club is a club where students can come together to appreciate and foster growth for female issues. It’s a support group that aims to improve the environment at our school. Club Presidents Sofia Sancen-Lopez and Yasmeen Saeed created the club because they believed that women have not had a significant voice in society for decades. They wanted to create something fun and empowering for all the girls at school, as well as for women in general.
They believe joining this club will help foster a stronger sense of community at Edsel Ford. “You will have the opportunity to make friends, have fun, and contribute to helping others. The club is known for being fun, supportive, and positive.” Meetings are held every Thursday in Mrs. McKeon’s room (E-4).
On February 15th at 3pm, the club is organizing a Cookie Decorating Day in the cafeteria. Participants will have the chance to decorate their own cookies, and all proceeds from ticket sales will go toward Women for Women International, which is currently supporting women in Gaza. Come have fun and support an important cause!
