This year, the Quiz Bowl team is competing in the league for the first time, which gives the team more practice. This year, we have more experience, and everyone is getting more comfortable competing in competitions. Currently, Edsel Ford is ranked first in the league and has won a plaque at the February 28th and March 13th tournaments.
The Edsel Ford Quiz Bowl is sponsored by Herr Sedore, and it meets during A lunch from 10:59 to 11:34 am. Herr Sedore says, “Quiz Bowl is all about having fun, the friendly competition, and answering fun trivia questions.” Herr Sedore has been a quiz bowl coach for 5 years. Herr Sedore decided to become the quiz bowl coach because he did Quiz Bowl in high school and loves trivia, and in the last couple of years, he was able to get started. His favorite game show is Jeopardy.

I interviewed senior Naithan Wiley, who’s on the team.
Cat: What made you want to join Edsel Ford Quiz Bowl Club?
Naithan: “I think I have to say that what made me want to join Quiz Bowl the most was the people. I didn’t wake up one day wanting to answer trivia questions, but the friends that I have made in Quiz Bowl are ones that are enjoyable to hang out with.”
Cat: If you could describe Quiz Bowl in one word, what would it be, and why?
Naithan: “I would describe Quiz Bowl as collaborative because it’s a pretty big team effort. We all have our own areas of knowledge, but together we are a knowledgeable team.”
Cat: What is your favorite part about being in Quiz Bowl?
Naithan: “My favorite part of Quiz Bowl has always been my teammates.”
Cat: How many years have you been a part of Quiz Bowl?
Naithan: “It’s my 3rd year.’’
Cat: Would you ever consider continuing Quiz Bowl in the near future?
Naithan: “If possible, but with graduation coming, that doesn’t seem likely.
Author’s Opinion:
I’m incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in such a great club with an amazing team. When I first joined Quiz Bowl online in my freshman year, I had no idea if I would like the club. Herr Sedore suggested I join one of the meetings just to try it out, but since joining in 9th grade, I have loved Quiz Bowl. It’s amazing to watch everyone on the team participate with their own areas of expertise. I joined when everyone was online and not able to meet in person, and now we are the number one school in the league. I’m incredibly proud of everyone, and although I’m sad to be leaving, I will definitely continue with Quiz Bowl in the future. Quiz Bowl is a club I love so much; it’s like my second family. Everyone on the team has become so close over the years.
